Judit Bodrogi
Budapest, Hungary
Born and living in Hungary, Judit studied textiles at Tömörkény István Technical College of Arts.
Judit’s paintings explore social issues. including child-bearing, sexuality, political affiliation and the pressures that society generates. Central to her creative process is the expressiveness of the issues and emotions in her own life. The contrast between the long hours spent embroidering and the lightness of the end result is the driving force of Judit’s art.
Thread is Judit’s “brush” and embroidery is the technique that breaks the barrier between her and creation. Each of her creations is a small slice of her, and because of her sensitivity to the deepest and most poignant moments, Judit’s paintings simultaneously process heavy themes while exuding an airy lightness.
