Paul Hallahan
Dublin, Ireland
Paul Hallahan is an Irish artist living and working at Fire Station Studio’s Dublin.
Interests within his work expand into many areas, but commonly focus on how we as a species relate and interact with nature, taking art as a form or by-product of nature and our civilisation. Using various methods and techniques his paintings are built up of thin layers, allowing the works to be shaped and guided over a long period of time and allowing light to move between the layers and through the works. This has always been of interest to Paul as he wanted the works to be active to the viewer and transcend the composition and initial image of the work.
Paul has exhibited widely and in recent years has had exhibitions at Hang Tough Contemporary (Dublin), The Complex (Dublin), Royal Hibernian Academy (Dublin), The Lab (Dublin), Berlin Opticians Gallery (Dublin) and Roscommon Arts Centre. His work is part of the collections of The ArtsCouncil, DLR County Council, Industrial Development Agency Ireland (IDA), Trinity College Dublin, The Office of Public Works, Waterford City Collection and numerous private collections.
