Justine Formentelli

Justine Formentelli spent her childhood living in the Caribbeans, the island of Reunion and Morocco. After 11 years in the United States where she studied Illustration and worked for Harper’s Bazaar and a year traveling around the world, Justine is now based in London with her family. She recently graduated with distinction from City and Guilds of London Art School.
Her latest work is a profound exploration of psychological landscapes or Inner scapes using forms derived from the body as well as geological and botanical references. At the intersection of intention and chance, her process starts out by preliminary sketches and compositional studies and evolves as an intuitive choreography between gestures, shapes and thin veils of colours.
Justine mostly works on paper, panels and canvas and has recently been developing sculptural pieces.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions in the United States and Europe and had her work featured at the London Migration Museum in 2020. She also has works in Soho House as well as in private collections around the world.
